Meet Harry Porbeni
I’m Harry Porbeni. For 15+ years, I’ve operated at the intersection of business strategy, enterprise development, and brand growth, helping founders, professionals, creativepreneurs, and organisations across Nigeria and Africa turn potential into profit.
My mission is simple: empower you to build structured, scalable ventures, not temporary side-projects.
WHAT I BRING TO THE TABLE:
My Philosophy and Approach
I believe real business success comes when vision meets structure. You don’t just need great ideas; you need a system, a process, and a pathway. That’s why I focus on:
WHAT WORKING WITH ME LOOKS LIKE:
My Journey and Credentials
My work is driven by a commitment to innovation, digital inclusion, enterprise development, and policy-driven impact.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and I am a licensed Business Development Service Provider (BDSP), with professional certifications in entrepreneurship, microfinance operations, human resources, human-centered design and innovation, digital marketing, information security, and brand strategy.
With over 15 years of experience across oil and gas, manufacturing, finance, media, technology, and the creative industries, I have built a career at the intersection of technology, strategy, and leadership. I previously served as Acting General Manager of ICT/Administration and Internal Security at a major financial institution before going on to establish my own firms.
I have contributed to public sector innovation as Special Adviser on ICT, New Media, and Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting (MER) to the Chairman of the Ogbia Local Government Council, where I provided strategic direction on digital transformation and performance monitoring.
Driven by a strong commitment to digital empowerment and enterprise growth, I co-founded Startup Bayelsa, a social enterprise focused on advancing digital literacy and SME development in Bayelsa State. I also served as the pioneer administrator of the Bayelsa Tech Hub, where I helped lay the foundation for a thriving technology and innovation ecosystem.
I mentor entrepreneurs through MicroMentor and the Tony Elumelu Foundation, supporting founders with strategy, structure, and sustainable growth frameworks.
I was instrumental in developing the Strategic Roadmap and Youth Policy for the Bayelsa State Ministry of Youth Development, and I have contributed to high-level policy dialogues and reviews, including the Bayelsa State ICT Policy, the Blue and Green Economy Framework for the Niger Delta, the BIG Education Conversation, and initiatives addressing the gender gap in digital skills across the region.
